The care and maintenance of our Right-of-Way trees is unique in that it depends on both the city Forestry Department and property owners to each do their part!

What do we mean by Right-of-Way trees? These are the trees that are planted in easements between individual properties and the street, in strips of ground that are often between the sidewalk and the street, and sometimes called planting strips or hell-strips.

The Forestry Department is responsible for planting, pruning, and providing any necessary pest control for these trees. It is the adjacent property owners responsibility to water and provide any other care necessary. City codes explain this partnership in more detail. See this link for more information:

Our Mission

Is to give property owners the information and support they need, and to encourage the community, as a whole, to build a better environment for our street trees and ourselves.
